Brace for Brisk Showers: Dubai Schools Go Virtual as Unstable Weather Hits UAE.
World Web Desk
In anticipation of a wet and windy two days, private schools in Dubai have switched to online learning for May 2nd and 3rd. Weather forecasters across the Gulf predict a period of unsettled conditions beginning Wednesday evening, with a mix of moderate and potentially heavy rain persisting through Thursday afternoon. Dubai Police urge residents to exercise caution during this time.
The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) expects rain clouds to gather in the western areas of the UAE on Wednesday, intensifying overnight and drifting towards Abu Dhabi. By Thursday, showers will encompass Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman, Ras Al Khaimah, Fujairah, and Umm Al Quwain, with the heaviest rain anticipated in these coastal regions.
Thankfully, a reprieve is expected from Thursday evening onwards. Friday and Saturday should see mostly cloudy skies, with the possibility of isolated light to moderate rain in Al Ain and Fujairah. However, these areas can also expect strong winds and rough seas during this time.
Authorities advise motorists to proceed with caution due to potential dust and sand blowing in the wind. Emergency response teams are on high alert and fully prepared to manage the situation and ensure public safety.
